RESUMEN
La planificación familiar es una rama importante de la medicina preventiva que puede tener una gran repercusión en la salud de la humanidad. El presente estudio es una evaluación a través de los efectos logrados por el programa de planificación familiar durante un periodo de 15 años en la Delegación Aguascalientes del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, estableciendo así un diagnóstico e identificando elementos que pueden contribuir a la planeación adecuada de estrategias para mejorar la calidad de la atención y responder a las necesidades de la población.

ABSTRACT
Familiar planning is an important branch of the preventive medicine that can have a great impact on the health of the humanity. The present study is an evaluation by a cross section of the effects obtained by the program of familiar planning during a period of 15 years in the Aguascalientes Delegation of the Mexican Institute of the Social Security, establishing therefore a diagnosis and identifying elements that can contribute in the suitable planning of strategies to improve the quality of the attention and to respond to social and health necessities of the population.
